SELF-WORTH & TRUST

Handling Rejection

A man offers a page across a small table while a woman gently raises her hand to decline.

When I am turned down,I hear, “I am not good enough.”Breathing in, I notice the hurt.I do not have to add to it.

Breathing out, I releasethe need to prove my worth.I trust what I have to offer, even when it is not chosen.

Reflection

When I’m turned down for something I care about, I can find myself replaying the conversation, looking for where I fell short. A “no” starts to feel like a judgment of me. I wanted a different answer, and it hurts. I don’t have to talk myself out of it—or add to it by questioning everything I bring. Being turned down does not erase the work I’ve done or what I still have to offer.

What can you still trust about yourself, even after this “no”?
